Special assignment accomplished – City manager for North Rhine-Westphalia signed
We are once again demonstrating our dual expertise in business and the public sector Date: October 7, 2025We have once again successfully completed a challenging executive search mandate for the public sector. On behalf of a municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia, we filled a strategically important management position in the field of city marketing, sales, and public relations. The aim was to bring economic momentum to the development of the city center and to integrate new ideas from the world of small and medium-sized businesses.
Sales and marketing expertise for municipal structural development
The decision to go with Kontrast was a conscious one: with this appointment, the city wanted to transfer management expertise from industry and small and medium-sized businesses to municipal city marketing—particularly in the areas of sales, marketing strategy, and customer loyalty. We were commissioned because our headhunting team can cover both worlds. We have been recruiting for industry and business as well as for municipal institutions and administrations for decades.
Direct approach brings suitable candidates
The recruitment was successful thanks to the use of traditional executive search methods: personal direct contact, individual targeting of marketing and sales professionals with experience in urban areas, and proven digital measures. The new job holder brings leadership experience from private-sector marketing structures and also understands municipal logic and the expectations of political bodies.
Kontrast: Interface experts between business and administration
With this mandate, we are once again demonstrating how important it is to understand both sides – the language of small and medium-sized businesses and the processes involved in public service. This ability to build bridges was crucial to the success of the project.
Current mandates in public service
Our team of permanent recruitment consultants is currently filling vacancies in the municipal sector again—including a treasurer for a city administration in Brandenburg and several specialists and managers for municipal companies, building authorities, and educational institutions.
